Three things about me:

One thing: I’m an avid rock climber. I love this sport because of how present I am when rock climbing. It is one of my favorite Zen-zones where all of me is fully engaged, body, mind and spirit.

Another thing: I love Jazz. If you have the Spotify app, you’ll find a cool and mellow playlist I compiled from favorite tunes I heard on jazz.fm. Just do a search for “Michèle’s chill jazzy mix”.

A third thing: I am fluent in French (my mother tongue), English and Spanish. I used to speak Italian fluently but have since forgotten a lot of it. I can still understand it but my spoken Italian is very rusty. Hmm, perhaps it’s time for a trip to Tuscany… 😁

Amira’s questions:

  1. What do you think is the most important force in the Universe? and why?
  2. What is one of the greatest lessons you ever learned?
  3. If you could give one piece of advice to others that you learned through your life’s journey, what would that be?
  4. What helps you to overcome difficult challenges in life?
  5. If you could chose only one place that you feel at total peace, which place would that be?

After reading Amira’s beautiful, deep and well thought out answers to her Mystery Blogger Award nomination (which you can read here), I’m inspired to answer her questions with as much honesty and integrity as I can muster.

Thank you Amira for inspiring me… aaaand here goes.

My answers:

1- What do you think is the most important force in the Universe? and why?

Wow, that is a big question… I’m not sure I can do it justice but I’ll attempt to answer it as honestly and integrally as I can.

During my childhood, I experienced 2 years of profound metaphysical events that left me forever changed… forever intimately connected to the energetic realms. Those experiences were of Source, infinity, and the infinite creative field. My view of the most important force in the universe is therefore colored by those experiences. I have a profound inner knowing of the power of this infinite force, but… is it the most important force…?

Your question is posed in a very intelligent way. What I can say is that from what I’ve experienced from both my soul vista and my human life, the force of love may be the most important force in the universe.

But love is also a choice. It may possibly be the most important choice we can make.

From my experiences, Source is neutral. It is both everything and nothing. It can be love, for love is a force, but we must choose love and focus on love to experience Source as love.

What is therefore the most important force in the universe? It may well be love.

Why?

Because love is the force through which we can ignite our co-creativity with the universe. Its vibrational frequency is such that it has the power to electrify our heart whose electromagnetic field is connected to all hearts, all worlds, all universes.

Yet… consciousness may also be the most important force in the universe because it is the only force through which we can choose love and create a loving world…

As I reflect on both my human and soul vantage points, consciousness is indeed the power that connects us all. Whether it is our infinite soul-consciousness or our limited human-consciousness, there is still only One consciousness. Source is infinite consciousness so by consciously choosing love, we create that love-force and that may be the most important force of all: the conscious act of co-creating love… with the Universe.

Your question is so multi-layered and profound… Thank you for letting its answer percolate through me by posing it. I do hope my ruminations have done your question justice.

2- What is one of the greatest lessons you ever learned?

Self-love.

3- If you could give one piece of advice to others that you learned through your life’s journey, what would that be?

Love your emotions. Feel your feelings. When you catch yourself trying to avoid them or repress them, turn up the volume on them instead. See what else is there. Love what you find for coming to the surface to be seen and cleared. Own it. Be accountable for it. Know that it would not be surfacing if it was not yours. Love it for the role it plays in your journey. If you don’t love what you find, love yourself anyway. Love your humanness. Love the feeling for coming out of your subconscious to be exposed to the light.

No matter what, love yourself as you are, right now. Be willing to love your human self. As you are. Now. If you can’t find the willingness, pray to have it granted to you, and it will be granted. I’ve done this many a times when I was lost in the unwillingness of my ways and Spirit has never failed me.

4- What helps you to overcome difficult challenges in life?

My unwavering connection to the energetic realms and to Spirit.

I know I am on an evolutionary journey and every experience is here for my soul’s evolution. I know that each experience is here to empower me with choice. Every moment, I know I have the choice to either do things the way I’ve always done them or choose to shift into a more loving place.

I overcome difficulties by diving into the lesson I am meant to learn. I have faith that it is always for my highest good and for the highest good of all. This does not mean that I’ve lived a life free of hardships. No one is spared hardships. No one. But it does mean that I have the power of choice as to how I choose to deal with what happens.

From those mystical and metaphysical events in my childhood, I saw that nothing, absolutely nothing happens in this world by accident or mistake. I have an inner knowing that by embracing the difficulties, by being accountable, I am the better for it. And my soul sings at my power to co-create a different reality through embracing and loving what is.

5- If you could choose only one place that you feel at total peace, which place would that be?

There’s only one place I can choose to feel total peace, and that is inside myself, here, now. Every moment I can choose to make that place here and now.

If I don’t feel peace, I work on what my soul is trying to tell me through whatever experience I am going through that I am not at peace with. I work through what is in the way of it and bring that place of total peace into my heart.

Accepting what is, loving myself no matter what, that is my place of total peace.

I’ve tried the geographical cures and they don’t work.

Remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

The prize is called ‘Mystery Blogger Award’ because the meaning of ‘Enigma’ is ‘mystery’, so it bears the name of its creator. In addition, it is a very appropriate name because there are many blogs that are still a mystery for all of us and when we know them, they result in being extraordinary.

Thursday’s Heart Whisper… what is your soul whispering?

There is a reason for your being. A mission that you came here to accomplish. … Your mission always involves the things you love.”

– Joseph Campbell

(The following is an excerpt adapted from my yet-to-be-published book ©Michèle Duquet, all rights reserved.)

The road to get there, here, living our soul-mission, is not an easy one. It involves great commitment, intention, authenticity and integrity. But when it happens, when we are living our passions and our loves, the soul lets us know through an inner serenity, no matter what currents swirl around us.

It is a practice, an allowing, a discovery, a blossoming.

It cannot happen without our full participation and willingness. We cannot live our passion and love without first making the conscious decision and choice to do so. We are responsible for our own happiness and for bringing together all the elements necessary to make it happen.

How do we know we are living our soul-mission?

Our soul lets us know through its inner whispers.

• Our soul lets us know we’ve found our soul-mission by how it comes to life in our body, heart, mind and spirit. Our energetic states begin to vibrate with soul-clarity, where our perceptions are malleable, changeable through the higher frequencies of love, kindness, understanding and compassion.

• Our soul lets us know we are living our soul-mission by how courageous we are, by how willing we are to set strong boundaries that no longer let through the distractors, the toxic invaders, the old destructive habits, the excuses, the blaming or the shaming.

• Our soul lets us know by how empowered we feel to work our way through the ups and downs so that we can emerge on the other side of pain.

• Our soul lets us know by how our faith is tested at every turn, as we remain steadfast in our resolve to heal, change, face the truth of who we are, and believe in ourselves again.

• And our soul lets us know by how connected we feel to others, how we feel a part of our community, allowing ourselves to be vulnerable enough to ask for help when that is what is needed, and being there for others without depleting ourselves through co-dependency, people-pleasing or enabling.

By allowing ourselves to live moments of passion and love, by identifying those moments when our soul is revealing to us that “this is it”, by having the courage to walk our authentic path, and by having the strength to keep going when our faith is wavering, finding solace in our oneness with others, we suddenly find ourselves waking up to our soul-mission, feeling the love and peace we searched for all of our lives.

So… what is your soul whispering?

Wishing you strength, courage and light on your awakening journey.

Tuesday’s Heart Whisper… Where does kindness come from?

Do not confuse kindness with niceness.

Niceness comes from playing by the rules and hiding behind the expected.

Kindness comes from the depths of a wise and compassionate soul, no matter the rules or expectations.

Given the choice, I choose kindness.

Friday’s Heart Whisper: Ho-oponopono…

stack of love wooden blocks

Today’s Heart Whisper:

(The following is a short excerpt adapted from my yet-to-be-published book ©Michèle Duquet, all rights reserved.)

Ho’Oponopono is a beautiful Hawaiian prayer recited for miraculous healing. The prayer was originally taught by Morrnah Nalamaku Simeona, a beloved healer who was designated ‘a living treasure of Hawaii’ in 1983.

Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, a staff psychologist at Hawaii State Hospital and a long- time student of Morrnah Simeona, practiced this prayer on patients at a high-security housing unit for the male criminally insane to miraculous results. He gained notoriety due to the strong documentation he had to back up the cases of patients who were healed. When asked how he had healed so many patients, he replied:

“I didn’t heal them. I healed the part of myself that created them.

Although a simple prayer, its effects are extraordinary. I use it often, and I never stop being amazed by its power to heal any situation by bringing me into my heart.

     The Ho’oponopono prayer:

     I love you

     I’m sorry

     Please forgive me

     Thank you

This prayer creates a beautiful opening for love. With the words I love you, the anger and fear that have built walls around our heart can begin to dissipate. But what this prayer also does is speak to the part of us that is taking responsibility for manifesting what it is we are trying to heal.

This goes to the core of our co-creative process. If everything, absolutely everything in our lives is a true reflection of what we are creating, then saying I love you and asking for forgiveness while also acknowledging our gratitude for having been forgiven or for becoming aware of what lives in us, this will heal that part of ourselves that created this. And by loving the other… we love ourselves.

This is the power of love.

Anytime I feel a need for protection, or whenever I catch myself projecting my judgments onto others, I say this prayer. No one can be expected to be perfect but this prayer can move us into the realm of love, healing and forgiveness no matter what imperfections or character defects are brought to light.

Practice saying this prayer for a single day, and you will be amazed with the results.

🌸My 3 Favorite Essential Oils for Meditation🌸

buddha-buddhism-statue-religion-46177.jpeg

Having more than 30 years’ experience with meditation, I’ve had the pleasure of trying many different methods as well as different essential oils that could enhance my timeless/space-less connection to a higher consciousness. As an aromatologist, I often explore the more esoteric side of essential oils and I’ve noticed that some oils have definite enhancement effects during my meditation, albeit at the more subtle energetic levels.

Here are my top 3 pics for amazing essential oils to use during meditation,  and why!

1- Frankincense:

(To be used in a diffuser)

Frankincense allows the ego-self and transpersonal-self to work together, which helps free us from attachments. It also cleans the auric and psychic planes.

I know that my meditations are always enhanced, deeper, when I use Frankincense in my diffuser.

On the physical level, Frankincense has the ability to slow down and deepen our breathing, helping us breathe more slowly and deeply, which in turn brings a feeling of calm and centeredness to our meditation.

I remember a particularly strange event that lasted days in my house… For days my whole house was infused with a strong scent of frankincense… and I could not find its source. I could feel a very high frequency energy within my house during that time. And then it just went away. But it did leave me with a sense of that magical connection that is always there between our 3-D world and the energetic realms.

2- Rose Otto:

(To be rubbed onto the heart chakra)

Rose otto opens the heart chakra. It instills compassion and forgiveness, and brings in love energy as it vibrates with the energy of universal love. It is also a powerful healer of emotional wounds.

From my personal experience, something very moving always happens when I meditate with rose otto essential oil on my heart chakra.

I’ve also experienced the scent of roses out of the blue without having any roses in the room. I know it was my angels saying hello from the energetic realms!

3- Lemon:

(To be used in a diffuser)

Lemon enhances spiritual and psychic awareness while also increasing the connection between our soul and Spirit. For me this translates into a feeling of lightness and expansion during my meditations.

Lemon essential oil also enhances our focus, clears our thoughts and helps us to better concentrate. This makes it a wonderful oil to use during our visualizations and our co-creative practice.

This 3-D world is much closer to the energetic realms than we can even imagine… sometimes the veil is lifted through the magical world of scents! 🌺
